Wife of Umpire Wilton Ricketts passes away

Umpire Ricketts who has been an integral part of the USACUA lost his beloved wife yesterday, Nov 13th, 2014.

Mr. Fitzroy Hayles, President of the Association extended his deepest sympathies and condolences on behalf of the members of the Association to Umpire Wilton Ricketts on the death of his wife.

The funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at Dunamis Seventh Day Adventist Church.

The viewing will be on Sunday 23rd Nov 2014 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Church. The repast and the service will follow the viewing. Interment will be on the following Monday morning in New Jersey.

The Association’s thoughts and prayers are with Umpire Ricketts.

USACUA Candidates perform well in WICUA 2014 Written Examinations

USACUA President Mr. Fitzroy Hayles was happy to announce that
USA candidates continued their strong showing in the 2014 WICUA Written Examinations.

Mr. Raj Jalli of New Jersey secured the second highest scored of 96% on the test.

Ms. Petula Samuels-Felicien of Atlanta, Georgia scored 90% in the tests.

Congratulations to everyone who were successful in the 2014 WICUA Written Examinations.

USACUA Umpires for US Nationals Tournament in Florida

USACA will be hosting the 2014 US Nationals Tournament from August 14 through the 16th of 2014 in Fort Lauderdale Cricket Stadium in Florida.

USACUA will be providing the following umpires to officiate at these prestigious games.

USACUA Umpiring Examinations to be held April 27, 2014 @9:00am

The USACUA Chief Training Officer Mr. Mohamed N. Baksh has announced that the USACUA Examinations – Preliminary and Final Written – will be conducted on Sunday, April 27th, 2014 commencing at 9:00 am – EST  at the various centers.

Trainers are requested to forward the names of the candidates for each examination and the attendance sheets for each session held so that the necessary verification can be done to ascertain that the minimum number of contact hours was satisfied. This should be sent to the Secretary and if desired cc to the Training Officer. Trainers are to ensure that each candidate is financially up to date to 2014.
The venues for each examination will be decided upon by the various trainers and communicated to all concerned.
Candidates who are attending the General Meeting in New York on the said day can opt to do the examination in New York. If so desired please inform the Training Officer before 04-20-14 so that the necessary arrangements can be made.
